Smell? Mess? What The B*zz is That?
Your BzzBox is designed for easy cleanup with a hole in the tray to sweep unused herbs into the jar located directly below. It is also smell-proof, constructed with bamboo (small absorbing) and a tight closing lid. Never worry about smell or a mess again.
I bought one of the Original Buzz Boxes back in 2019. It served me well over the years, but I never thought there was enough room for my stuff, mainly because I seem to collect a lot of paraphernalia... You know the type (yeah, I'm one of em.)
I reached out to Johnny here and bought the XL directly from him off of the website here, rather than Etsy of Amazon. He engraved it for me.
The engraving was great, the product is great. I just got the version with the standard borosilicate Jars - and if you use Boveda? That's probably all you need. The hygrometer jars are, of course, even better with Boveda 62% humidity control packets. Stainless pots? Top shelf.
But, really, the rest of the box is why you bought it - and it delivers. There's just more room, and each of those three jars in the XL will hold an ~ ounce (well, with humidity control, your MMV - but close to that anyway).
The XL's tray is in every way just *entirely more useful*. The OG Bzz Box tray does work, but let's be fair: it's a little small, really. The XL's tray? A1. The increased size means that it's just an entirely more comfortable roomy experience in every respect. It's just a bigger and better box.
But - the extra room on the inside is not due to some tesseract effect on the inside! It's way bigger on the outside, too, and it takes a lot more room on your shelf/desk/cabinet or wherever else you decide to put it.
The XL Bzz Box box is *significantly* heavier, so the folding metal hand clasps screwed in to each end of the XL (which are not present on smaller models) are something you'll probably use.
The wood on the box is unfinished, but a few coats of Tung oil (or something very similar, like Odie's Oil) will fix that right up and will only take ~4 hours to dry. Up to you, but recommended. Alternatively, you could go with a wipe-on Poly. Again - dead simple to apply. Pick your finishing product ahead of time and just apply it when you receive the box soon enough, you are good to go.
You don't have to do any of that of course. You can leave the wood unfinished and it will be fine; but a sealant will help preserve the wood and protect against shrinking/expansion from humidity - which even hard bamboo is quite susceptible to.
Bottom Line: I'm very pleased with the XL. Apart from preferring that it already would have a Tung oil finish, if there was any one thing I would change, it might be so that one of the dividers could be optional (because, I have some longer gadgets) but this is really minor given the extra size in the XL model.
I give the Bzz Box XL a solid 4.7 to 5 stars (round up!).

I am so pleased that I stumbled upon this Canadian company. I had been looking for stash box on Amazon and none of them were big enough. Then I found this bzz XL chest. It fits EVERYTHING. It came with 3 CANNAisters, I opted to use just one and I can fit every accessory I own neatly into the box.
I can't find a single thing I don't like. I wish I had gotten it with a grinder but they didn't have that option when I ordered. If your looking for a seriously LARGE stash box, this is the one you need!
I LOVE my Bzz Box. Johnathon was able to add custom engraving on the front making this box my own special design. Customer service is beyond compare! I highly recommend.
